When I was in my early twenties, I spent several months traveling around Asia. In Thailand, I bought some local clothes and a cheap digital camera that cost $100. When I returned home, I had an opportunity to sell this camera for $500. That’s how much I learned about photography while traveling.
As a young child, I remember watching television commercials where people were going on vacations and bringing back souvenirs to show off to their friends. As I grew up, I realized that they were not just souvenirs. They were items that they could use later on.
So what are the best products to take with you when you are travelling? Here are my top 10 travel products:
1. Travel Guide
A good travel guide will help you get around the city or country you are visiting. It will tell you how to get from one place to another. It will tell you where to eat, what to see, and what to do. It will even give you a map of the area so that you can find your way around. If you don’t have a good guide, it may be difficult to get around town.
2. Digital Camera
If you want to take pictures, then you need a digital camera. Most digital cameras will allow you to download the pictures onto your computer. You can then print them out and put them into a scrapbook. You can also upload them to your favorite photo website. This way, you can share your photos with other people who might be interested in seeing them.
3. Digital Video Camera
If you are planning to take video clips, then you will need a digital video camera. These cameras come in many different sizes. The larger ones can record full length movies. You can even use them to make short videos of your vacation. You can also upload the videos to your favorite website.
4. Cell Phone
A cell phone is very handy when you are traveling. It allows you to stay in touch with family and friends back home. You can call them whenever you feel like it. You can also send text messages to let them know that you are safe and sound.
5. Headphones
Headphones allow you to listen to music without disturbing other people. Many hotels will provide you with headphones if you ask for them. Some hotels will charge you extra for this service.
6. USB Flash Drive
If you want to download your pictures and videos onto your computer, then you will need a USB flash drive. These devices come in all shapes and sizes. The bigger the drive, the more space you will have. If you are taking pictures, then you will need a large drive. If you are taking videos, then you will need a smaller drive.
7. Laptop Computer
If you want to do some work while you are traveling, then you will need a laptop computer. Many hotels will provide you a computer with Internet access. Some will even charge you for this service.
8. MP3 Player
An MP3 player will allow you to play your own music while you are traveling. You can load the songs onto the device before you leave home. Then you can take it with you wherever you go.
9. Video Game System
Video games can be fun while you are traveling. However, if you want to do some serious gaming, then you will need a video game system. There are portable systems available, but these are usually very expensive.
10. Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)
A PDA is similar to a cell phone. You can store information and contact numbers. You can also download applications onto the device.
These are my top ten travel products. If you are traveling, then you should consider buying one or two of these items.
